We are often asked about how and why we started this business. The truth is that Nordikota started because of a dog. Our dog!
I'd wanted a Siberian Husky for many years, and in 2006, we had our first - a beautiful boy called Diesel. Because of him, we got involved in running dogs, showing him, and welfare events. For one of our first events, we wanted merchandise to sell to raise funds for the welfare group, but I struggled to find anyone as nobody seemed to want to supply us with small quantities of products, without charging a fortune.
This got me looking into how products could be customised, and with a background in design and marketing I felt it was something I could do as a hobby. In December 2007, Nordikota was born. Initially we only provided products to Dog rescues and Dog Organisations but as the business grew, word-of-mouth helped us expand into other areas. It grew beyond a hobby into a much larger business and today we provide a wide range of products to a variety of customers, who are all looking for the same thing - quality products for a good price, with a friendly, but professional customer service.
Based in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, we are a small local t-shirt printing business offering more than just a personalised printing service, with the design, adaption, and the re-creation of images, photos, or logo's for no additional charge. Every item is printed, evaluated, & packaged by hand in the UK. And where does the word 'Nordikota' come from? I have a fascination with Native American Indians - mainly the Sioux and Apache. I blame my mum for making me watch all those Cowboy and Indian movies when I was a kid :-). The word 'Nordikota' comes from a combination of Nordic Breeds [Nordi], and North Dakota [kota].
Our moto is 'we make it personal', and that's what we excel at. We offer customised products in small quantities, with no fuss, no large costs, and a service tailored to each individual customer.
